Trivia
- The timeline when the story takes place is stated by Keijiro Maeda when he meets Kaede in the Mist Valley and says that it's been more than 10 years (since 1560), suggesting that it takes place in the early 1570s. According to Jujudormah's Diary, a document found in Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, the events of that game take place in 1573, with Onimusha: Blade Warriors taking place later that same year. This is further confirmed by the opening cutscene of Onimusha 3: Demon Siege which states that 9 years have passed since Nobunaga was defeated by Jubei Yagyu.
- The opening cutscene of Oyu's Story Mode depicts the destruction of Odani Castle, likely based on the 1573 Siege of Odani Castle by the Oda clan, which lead to the death of Nagamasa Azai.
